Planning a day at the races? With Racecard you can record all of your bets, keep track of the total amount you have staked and calculate your returns.
There are a number of betting calculators available for the iPhone (and we believe that our Bet Settler app is the best of them) that can settle all sorts of complicated bets like Yankees, Lucky 15s, Flags, etc. Powerful though many of those calculators are they do have their limitations and it is those shortcomings that Racecard aims to address. An example will hopefully illustrate the point.
____
Its the day of a big horse racing meeting. You go into a betting shop with £50 in your pocket and emerge with the following betting slip.
Race 1: £15 win on Dead Cert at SP
Race 1: £2.50 e/w (each way) on Big Outsider at 25/1
Race 2: £10 win on Likely Lad at 3/1
Race 3: £4 win and £3 e/w on Definite Prospect at 11/2
Race 4: £5 e/w on Last Chance at SP.
With a traditional betting calculator, if all these bets were successful (Dead Cert and Big Outsider are in the same race, but if the former wins and the latter is placed they will both return a dividend), you would have to enter and exit the App six times to do all the calculations and then keep a track of the running total yourself – using either a calculator or pen and paper. With Racecard you can have any number of selections, and any number of bets associated with a selection, so the entire betting slip can be settled within the app.
There are six bets here because, rather than having £10 win or £5 e/w on Definite Prospect in Race 3, you have put more money on the selection to win (£7 in total) while still doing a £3 place bet. Again, with a betting calculator you would have to settle two separate bets and total them yourself. With Racecard you can link any number of bets to a selection, so settling a bet like this is a very straightforward task.

With Racecard you can keep track of all your bets within the App. Similarly, if you are enjoying a day at the races you can record your bets as you go along and see exactly how you are getting on.
